Meet the Team
In 2015, Daniel purchased Upper Valley Builders from Frank after thirteen years building tug boats and barges and at Frank’s encouragement that ‘if you can build a boat, houses will be easy.’ Much like Frank’s dedication to craftsmanship, Daniel too is a believer in a job well done. He appreciates the opportunity Frank has allowed him and strives for perfection on each project. In his free time Daniel likes to spend time with his wife and their daughter, travel, hunt and work on projects at home. You can usually find Daniel driving from one project to the next with his dog, Penny.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Frank attended the University of California, Berkley and graduated with a degree in History in 1970. After moving to Oregon with his wife, Lauren, Frank decided against his original plan of law school and instead pursued the industry in which he had spent his summers working and had grown to love; he and several partners formed their own construction company, Upper Valley Builders. Since 1977, UVB has been dedicated to bringing craftsmanship and reliability to its projects. Frank enjoys cooking, mountain biking, skiing, surfing and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Hanspeter has worked in construction for many years. He started in Switzerland in the 1980s. Graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Chemistry, he instead chose to pursue a career in fine carpentry. Hanspeter joined the UVB team in 1991 and is well known as a master carpenter, bringing artistic qualities and competency to his craft. He specializes in finish work. One of his favorite pastimes is creating sculptures with wood shingles and steel.
Steve has over 30 years of experience in construction. Specializing in demolition in the Navy for 6 years, Steve developed an eye for detail and is good at ensuring all the building components are put together properly, that is, plumb, level, and square. He is an avid snowboarder and enjoys landscaping in his spare time.
Nathan has been with UVB for 16 years now. He brings with him many years of experience in the logging industry as well as the construction industry. A hard worker, Nathan has become a specialist in concrete finish work and is known in the team for creating smooth surfaces with tight corners. During his spare time, he enjoys fishing and riding motorcycles in the mountains and trails of Coos County.
